Before you submit your entry, please note:

The Through Southern Lenses: Sciences in Focus Award is open to photographers from all areas, who may submit one Photo Essay composed of ten (10) original photographs produced within the last five years, on the theme “Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals.”

Submissions must be made digitally through this website between November 1st, 2025 and May 30, 2026, and AI-generated images will not be accepted. Participation is free of charge, and incomplete or non-compliant entries will be automatically disqualified. By submitting, the photographer declares authorship and grants permission for FCW and TWAS to use the awarded images with proper credit.

Image files must be sent in JPG format only, with a maximum size of 1MB each.
